About Us

Established in 1962, Bob Callen started making camper shells.  His idea was to build a shell that would be sturdy and durable.  After making shells he discovered that his customers had specific individual needs.  He soon started making custom designs and expanding his business to not just camper shells, but trailers, motorhomes and more!  Throughout the years Callen Campers has built a reputation with their steel frames, durability, and style.  In 1978, James Callen took over for his father and took Callen Campers to a new level.  Major projects such as custom building units for the City of San Diego including the San Diego Police Mobile Command Unit, has put Callen Campers on the map. 

In 2003 James Callen passed the tradition to his son Scott Callen.  For over 45 years and three generations, Callen Camper continues to be the best in the business with quality and ingenuity that cannot be beat.  We have the most loyal and dedicated  employees in the business. Our welder, Alex has been with us from the beginning and has over 40 years of experience. James Callen is now venturing into the wilderness outfitting business.
